Jio's Game Changing Move: Introducing JioBharat V2 Phone at Just Rs 999, Paving the Way for a '2G-Free India' - Discover All the Exciting Details and Cutting-Edge Features!

Reliance Jio has made a significant move towards expediting the nationwide transition from 2G to 4G networks with the introduction of the JioBharat V2 Phone at an affordable price of Rs 999. This groundbreaking feature phone aims to provide cost-effective access to the advanced Jio 4G network, targeting customers who are still using 2G technology.

The company has announced that the beta trial for the initial batch of one million JioBharat phones will commence on July 7.

The JioBharat V2 Phone is a key component of Reliance Jio's vision of achieving a "2G Mukt Bharat" (2G-free India). This device combines advanced network capabilities with feature-rich functionalities, aiming to make internet-enabled phones accessible to the masses.

Alongside the JioBharat phone, Reliance Jio has introduced a new 4G plan priced at Rs 123, valid for 28 days, which offers a generous 14GB of data (0.5 GB per day). According to the company, this data offering is seven times higher than that of any competitor. Users also have the option to choose an annual plan priced at Rs 1,234, providing 168 GB of data (0.5 GB per day).

Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio, emphasized that there are still around 250 million mobile phone users in India who are "trapped" in the 2G era, unable to access basic internet features. He underlined Jio's commitment to democratizing the internet and ensuring that every Indian can benefit from technology, especially in the face of the impending 5G revolution. The launch of the JioBharat phone is seen as another step towards achieving this goal.

The JioBharat V2 Phone features a 1.77-inch QVGA TFT screen and comes with a removable 1000mAh battery. It is worth noting that the device is locked to Jio SIM cards, requiring users to insert a Jio SIM before using it.

Upon powering on the device, users will find three pre-installed Jio apps in the menu. The first app is JioCinema, which offers a wide range of non-stop entertainment, including the latest web series, blockbuster movies, HBO Originals, sports content, and TV shows. The second app is JioSaavn, India's leading free music app, providing access to a vast and exclusive music library. Lastly, the device includes JioPay, a UPI-based digital payments app.

In addition to these features, the JioBharat phone incorporates a bright torch and a radio, making it particularly useful in remote and rural areas. It also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, allowing users to connect earphones for content consumption or music listening. For capturing memories, the device is equipped with a 0.3MP camera, and users can expand its storage capacity by inserting an SD card of up to 128GB.

The launch of the JioBharat V2 Phone is well-timed, considering the rising 2G tariffs from competitors and the limited availability of affordable feature phones. Reliance Jio's new offering aims to expedite the transition from 2G to 4G, empowering people with digital experiences.

It is worth mentioning that two models have been released, one featuring the "Jio" brand logo on its back cover and the other displaying the "Karbonn" logo. Users have two color choices available: blue and red.

Reliance Jio has also confirmed that additional brands will soon join the "JioBharat platform" to create more "JioBharat phones." This suggests that more brands will

collaborate with Jio to introduce additional affordable models in the future.

Reliance Jio reiterates its unwavering commitment to bridging the digital divide in India, stating that the JioBharat device will play a pivotal role in realizing its vision of a digitally connected India.
