Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) Commences, Bringing Relief to Uttar Pradesh
In a much-anticipated moment, the commencement of the Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) in Uttar Pradesh, specifically the Namo Bharat Train, known as RapidX, was marked on Friday. This monumental inauguration took place with a flag-off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, putting an end to the long wait that the people of Uttar Pradesh, including Ghaziabad, had endured. The public will be able to experience this service starting October 21.
The Dream Realized After 25 Years

This project's inception dates back to 25 years ago when the dream of a high-speed rail network was conceived. Today, it has finally materialized with the launch of the first phase of the RRTS project.

Key Features of RapidX

- State-of-the-Art Coaches: Each RapidX train is equipped with six coaches, with one coach exclusively reserved for women.

- Impressive Speed: RapidX boasts a maximum speed of 180 kilometers per hour, with an operational speed of 160 kilometers per hour and an average speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

- Passenger Amenities: Passengers can enjoy features like luggage racks, CCTV cameras, charging facilities, and more.

- Service Hours: Starting October 21, the train will run from 6 AM to 11 PM daily, ensuring a wide window of service for commuters.

- Frequent Stops: The train will arrive at each station at 15-minute intervals, ensuring efficient connectivity.

- Seating Capacity: Standard coaches can accommodate 72 passengers, while premium coaches offer seating for 62 travelers.

- Accessibility: Coaches reserve seats for women, senior citizens, and differently-abled individuals.

- Door Operation: The train's doors will automatically open upon reaching the station when the button is pressed.

- Ticketing Options: Passengers can purchase tickets through various methods, including the RapidX Connect app, ticket counters, and more.

- Accessibility Features: The final coach of each train will have space reserved for stretchers and wheelchairs.

- Amenities at Stations: Passengers can access drinking water and restroom facilities in the concourse level at each station.

- Lost and Found Services: A lost and found center has been established at the Ghaziabad station for items that may have been misplaced.

- Emergency Communication: An emergency communication system is available on the train for passengers to report any issues or concerns.

- Security Measures: Artificial intelligence and door frame metal detectors have been installed to ensure passenger safety.

- Security Responsibility: The security of all RRTS stations has been entrusted to the Uttar Pradesh Special Security Force (UPSSF).

- Facility Upgrades: Stations are equipped with parking facilities, lifts, and escalators for the convenience of commuters.

Future Prospects

The operation of RapidX is just the beginning, with the vision of connecting Delhi to Meerut by 2025. This corridor comprises a total of 25 stations, and the 82-kilometer journey is expected to take just 60 minutes.

The Eight Corridors

The Namo Bharat Train, RapidX, is part of a larger plan for eight corridors, connecting various cities and regions for improved connectivity and efficiency:

1. Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Corridor - 82 kilometers
2. Delhi-Gurugram-Alwar Corridor - 198 kilometers
3. Delhi-Panipat Corridor - 103 kilometers
4. Delhi-Faridabad-Ballabhgarh-Palwal Corridor
5. Ghaziabad-Khurja Corridor
6. Delhi-Bahadurgarh-Rohtak Corridor
7. Ghaziabad-Hapur Corridor
8. Delhi-Shahdara-Bahadurgarh Corridor

These corridors represent a major leap in the country's infrastructure, promising faster, more efficient travel and connectivity for the people of Uttar Pradesh and beyond.
