The research found that while foods like cheese, pizza, ice cream, and eggs are well-known for their high saturated fat content, other items like cold cuts, fried potatoes, and whole milk also contribute significantly. Additionally, beverages and desserts such as soft drinks, fruit drinks, and baked goods were identified as major sources of added sugars.
Tomato-based condiments, cereal bars, energy drinks, and even certain breads were also listed as contributors to added sugars in the diet. These findings underscore the importance of being aware of the cumulative effect of various foods on our health, even those that are often considered healthy.
